Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are between the owners of ZenCapeTown Holiday House and guests who are booking holiday accommodation, either directly with ZenCapeTown Holiday House or through one of our online booking platforms. Please be advised that terms and conditions of any bookings made through one of our booking partners will supersede any terms and conditions stated below, if they are in conflict with the terms and conditions set out here. Please be advised that the terms and conditions outlined below may be updated from time-to-time.

Booking Fee and other Fees

Deposit

A R2000 cash deposit is payable on arrival, which will be fully refunded given that no breakages or damages are incurred by the guests during their stay. The owner reserves the right to make deductions from the deposit if required.

Cancellation

If a guest cancels within 24 hours of booking, they will receive a full refund, provided that the reservation is more than two weeks of check in.

Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 21 days away.

No refund for cancellations made 30 days before check in. Any refunds will be over and above the 10% non refundable fee. 50% refund for cancellations made atleast 21 days before checking. 25% refund for cancellations made at least 14 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.

Any refund will be less any transaction fees incurred and less the non-refundable booking deposit of 10%.

Covid-19 related Cancellations

Standards and Expectations

No weapons may be brought onto the premises, regardless of whether they have been legally procured by the guest(s). Weapons refer to any mechanism that may fire a projectile, and includes (but is not limited to): standard firearms, air guns, imitation firearms, or ammunition of any kind.

The use of fireworks is strictly prohibited on the property.

Check-in and Check-out Times

Guests may check-in after 14.00, and must checkout by 10.00. The owner will be on-site at check in to provide guests with keys and a brief house tour. Additional details regarding the features of ZenCapeTown Holiday House and activities in Hout Bay are available on the website.

House Rules

There is a strict no-smoking policy within the home. Additional cleaning costs for odor and/or stain removal, should this rule be violated, will be deducted from the deposit.

Guests are not allowed to host visitors at the guesthouse overnight, unless by prior arrangement with the owner.

No parties/weddings/functions are allowed.

No pets are allowed.

ZenCapeTown Holiday House is located in a residential area, and guests must please be considerate of noise levels during evenings, which should be restricted after 10pm during weekdays, and 11pm on weekends.

Parking

On-street parking is provided which can accommodate sedans or smaller SUV’s; larger and/or additional vehicles must park along the street adjacent to the entrance.

Violation of Rules

The owner reserves the right to request that the guest leave the premises immediately if any of the aforementioned rules are violated, or if any guest(s) are found in possession or use of illegal substances. In this situation, the guest will not be allocated a refund of any remaining nights already paid for.

Additional Rights and Obligations of the Parties and Liability Provisions

The owner is not responsible for any loss of life, injury and/or loss or damage of property, including any consequential damages and/or losses suffered by the guest and/or any visitor, as a result of any act or omission by the owner or any employee. The guest thus indemnifies the owner and holds them harmless against all and any claims, which may be made against the owner, howsoever arising.

Full payment of the booking will reflect an acknowledgement and acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Facilities

Our best offering is our fully stocked offering of kitchen condiments, herbs, spices, salt, pepper, olive oil vinegar and cooking oil. We also supply all cleaning materials to make your holiday experience easy and hassle free. No need to do a huge shop for essentials. We also have a fabulous choice of teas and filter coffee. The kitchen has a 5 plate gas hob and electric oven, microwave, juicers, orange squeezers, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, Oscar Juicer and all normal amenities for a wonderful kitchen experience.
